Brian Tompkins - BSc Hons FC Optom FBCLA

Brian is an experienced independent practitioner in his stunningly refurbished and contemporised Victorian house-practice in Northampton UK.  

He is a Past President of the BCLA and a former AOP Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year at the multi award winning TK&S. 

He lectures internationally on business, imaging technology, dry eye and specialist contact lens topics, all based on real life experience in the consulting room.  Brian learnt that people retain more by being entertained while being educated and so since that time his lectures and workshops have been interactive and fun, sometimes even hilarious, but always informative. He is maybe Optometry’s best known EDUTAINER.

Dr Melissa Barnett - OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA

Melissa Barnett is passionate about helping people improve their lives by optimizing their vision, health and wellness with a customized approach. An internationally recognized expert in specialty and scleral lenses, dry eye disease, keratoconus, and presbyopia,

Dr. Barnett is a key opinion leader, frequent lecturer and advocate for expanding the scope of practice through technology and sharing best practices. She has authored books and numerous research publications and sits on boards of multiple specialty organizations. Dr. Barnett was awarded the inaugural Theia Award for Excellence for Mentoring by Women In Optometry and was granted the Most Influential Women in Optical from Vision Monday.

Sarah Morgan -  

Sarah Morgan is an optometrist, and has worked in clinical research at The University of Manchester where she gained her MPhil – she continues to lecture and lead clinical sessions and holds the post of Vision Sciences Fellow.  Her business consultancy includes a wide portfolio of projects including staff development and training, advising professional organisations, and healthcare communication initiatives for manufacturers in the UK, Europe and globally.  Sarah is an entertaining Key Note speaker and has lectured internationally across Europe, North America, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Israel, Australia and New Zealand.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the British Contact Lens Association.  In addition to her work in Optometry, Sarah is a professional actress and musical stand-up comedian.  In her spare time she enjoys creating and editing short films, and The Presbyopia Song and The Myopia Control Song are examples of this work.

Prof P Morgan -  

Philip Morgan is Professor of Optometry, Head of Optometry, Deputy Head of the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry, and Director of Eurolens Research at The University of Manchester. Philip is President of both the International Association of Contact Lens Educators and the Manchester Statistical Society, and is a Past President of the International Society for Contact Lens Research.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and of the British Contact Lens Association, and a member of the UK College of Optometrists. Philip was the BCLA Medallist in 2014 and the winner of the 2019 Max Schapero Award of the American Academy of Optometry.
