Inma Pérez-Gómez
Inma Pérez-Gómez began her optometric career after graduating from the School of Optics and Optometry in Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain, in June 1996. She then received her Masters degree of Science in Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 1998. In 2002, she received her PhD degree from the same institution. She then worked as a lecturer and corneal researcher at UMIST, being responsible for and teaching in all contact lens courses within the Optometry degree before pursuing a career in the industry. She joined CIBA VISION S.A. in 2005 as Technical Director in Spain. She now serves as Head of Professional Affairs for EMEA at Alcon.
Dr. Pérez-Gómez has published and lectured internationally on a variety of contact lens and corneal related topics. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and of the British Contact Lens Association. In 2001 and 2004 she was awarded with the first prize in the poster competition at the BCLA conference. She received a student grant to attend the 11th Symposium of the International Society for Contact Lens Research in 2001. Also, in 2005 she was invited to deliver the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture at the Annual Conference and Exhibition of the BCLA.
