Marilize Le Roux

Marilize completed her B.Optom degree at RAU in 2004, and was awarded the IACLE top contact lens student in final year.  She then embarked on an exciting journey where she owned and managed 2 practices in Witbank and Ogies Mpumalanga – mainly doing safety spectacles for mines and even eye examinations at the prison!  She missed life in the Jacaranda city and decided to relocate back to Pretoria. 

She did locum at various practices and spent 3 years at Bausch and Lomb as a Territory manager and was involved in product training for students, optometrists and ophthalmologists.  She is however dedicated to the heart of Optometry and joined the De Jongh Optometry team in 2014, but opened her own practice in 2023 in Menlo Park Pretoria.  She enjoys assisting patients with severe dry eye disease and specialized contact lens fitting.  She is a member of the Contact lens Society of South Africa and was invited to do workshops, panel discussions and presentations at various conferences.  She enjoys training fellow colleagues in the field of dry eye treatment and contact lens fitting, but in her free time loves riding her Harley Davidson!
